Hello again Creatives!
This time I want to share my Little Birdie DT project, a mixed media single page layout with you. I really love this picture recently taken with a dear friend of mine, and wanted to scrapbook it.
The Little Birdie flowers coordinates so well with the photograph.
To frame the layout I trimmed the patterned paper on the left and bottom side with 0.25", and distressed all around the edges. I adhered it to the rust patterned paper and painted it with transparent Gesso.
Tip: It is best to let it dry naturally and not to use the craft heat tool.
One of my favourite techniques I love to use at the moment is image transfer. I used old book paper and tore it into smaller pieces. I painted generously with matte gel-medium and placed randomly on the background paper. I left it to dry naturally. Once dry, I wet it with water and rubbed the paper background gently away.
Next I stencilled with Ginger Ale "Sparkle Paste" and the "Dotty" stencil over the areas where the transfers are. Once dry, I also added some Dotty's with the White Mixed Media Paste.
I used the Little Birdie Metallic Wax Antique Gold, to colour all the the chipboard elements.
I cut various sizes of patterned paper and distress the edges, and layered it behind the focal photograph. I matted the photograph on white card-stock and raised it with foam tape. A layer of Little Birdie Sisal was adhered between the patterned papers and the matted photograph.
I created a cluster of embellishments with the flowers and chipboard elements.
Here are a few closeup pictures of the layout:
Finally I added the title to complete the layout.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you found some inspiration here.
Happy creative play until next time!
