Christmas Tags in a little Box

Hi there Creatives!

Christmas time is my favourite time of the year. I'm already planning my gift list and obviously need gift tags. The "Home for Christmas" paper collection from Mintay Paper is just perfect for gift tags. I also made a little box for them to fit in. Now they can be a gift for someone special too!

The gift tags are easy to make, with lots of (therapeutical) fussy cutting!

Let me show you how I did it:

The Box:
Bottom:
Cut 8 ¼” x 10 ¾ ”
Score 1” and 2” on all sides
Cut away as shown on the diagram

Top:
Cut 8 3/8 ” x  10 7/8”
Score 1” and 2” on all sides
Cut away as shown on diagram

Fold the sides over twice. Hide the little piece of the long side in the short side and adhere with red tape. Do the same for the top and bottom.

I decorated the top of the box with the organza ribbon and fussy cut elements. Some elements were raised and I finished off with fairy dust.

Tag Divider insert:
Cut 4 ¼ ” x 9 ¾”
Score 2 ¼”  , 3” , 3 ¾” , 6” , 6 ¾” , 7 ½”
Adhere the two score areas to form a divider.

Tags:
Cut 18x cardstock pieces:    2” x 4” pieces
Cut 18x mixed pattern paper pieces: 1 7/8 “ x 3 7/8 “
Round the top corners and sand the edges
Adhere the small piece onto the large piece
Punch a hole in the top of the tag for the twine
Embellish with fussy-cut elements from the pattern paper.
Raise some parts with foam squares
Finally add some Fairy Dust glitter with a glue pen.
Add twine

And the you have it! A beautiful box with 18 Christmas gift tags to gif as a gift or to tag your Christmas presents this year.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this project. Or found some inspiration to create your own.

Happy Creative Play !

Happiness

Hi there Creatives!

A few of my girlfriends and I recently went for breakfast at Hazendal Wine Estate and spontaneously took some photographs. This donkey made from stones was so beautiful, just looking at this beautiful stone creation made me happy!

I created a mixed media single page layout with papers from 49 and Market, the Rusty Autumn Collection and lots of Tim Holtz products, all picked up from The Scrapbook Studio the last time I was in Jeffreys bay.

I wanted to add more interest to the paper with layers of mixed media products.  I started by covering the page with clear Gesso and transferred old book paper with Gel Medium. Then I stencilled with embossing paste coloured with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. To create a watercolour look, I watered the Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink down and randomly painted over the background paper. I also splattered with the Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and Champagne Mist All Purpose Ink.

The swirls were created with Prima's Bronze Age Metallique Wax, and a Tim Holtz stencil.

Here are a few close-up picture of my layout:

The chipboard elements were foiled with the GoPress and Foil

The seam binding ribbon was coloured with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink.

Finally I added flowers and Copper Glass Glitter from Prima and Tim Holtz word stickers.

I hope you found some inspiration here. Thank you for stopping by.

Happy "Creative Play" until next time!
