Loads of Love

This time I'm back with another scrapbook layout, using all the amazing Little Birdie products!

For my background I selected paper from 3 different paper packs: Texture Brew, Aqua Medleyand Chevron in Aquarelle. As well as some crochet lace. I started with the rose strip cut from the Aqua Medley's fussy-cut page and distressed the edges. I added the crochet lace and woodgrain paper piece at the bottom.

I wanted some texture as the first layer, so I used the Irregular Dot Stencil with white Mixed Media Paste.

Next, I splattered with some Mocha Color Splash.

Then I stencilled (Spotty Stencil) with my favourite Sparkle Paste: Silver Sage, and stamped randomly with brown ink.

I fussy cut more elements from the Aqua Medley. I cut about 1mm away from the image border.

I sprayed the Bamboo Primed Chipboard with Mocha Color Splash. It needed a few layers to have the tone I liked.

Painted my title with the Silver Sage Sparkle Paste again. (Love this color!)

I took all the fussy-cut elements including some flowers and created the focus point. Some of the elements are raised with foam tape and carton. I also layered a piece of Aqua Medley paper and a piece of packaging where the photograph will be placed.

Finally I added Little Birdie Sisal fibre behind the raised photograph to add more interest and depth.

For my first Little Birdie Crafts blog-post for April I decided to do something different, not my usual scrapbook layout. I've been wanting to alter a bare mask and paint palette for a while and this week I felt inspired to create an off the page project with these items.

First I dry brushed the wooden paint palette with Slate Mixed Media Paste.

While it was drying I panted the bare mask with Tinted Metallic Paint , Golden Glaze and Golden Plum.

I stencilled with Tinted Metallic Paints and the Irregular Dot Design stencil and Spotty stencil on the painted wooden palette.  I used a small sponge dauber to apply the paint. 

I left the palette to dry naturally, while I painted the chipboard shapes and title with Little Birdie Black Gesso. It is a wonderful matt black and covers very well the first time.

Once the background was dry, I adhered paint brushes and the painted chipboard pieces to the palette as the first layer. I used the Little birdie Heavy Gel Medium as adhesive.

To create a layered effect on the mask I first stamped on the mask, then I used the Spotty stencil again to stencil with the Tinted Metallic Paint. I added the painted chipboard as decoration around the eye and added rhinestones, chains and charms create an interesting  effect.
