"Mantle Clock"

Hi Creatives!

I have been itching to play with the Little Birdie chalk paint, especially the “Rainy Day” blue. It is so beautiful! And to combine it with some gold accents and flowers.
This is what I created: a "gilded" mantle clock.

Little Birdie Supply List:
  • Matt Chalk Paint: Rainy Day
  • Tinted Metallic Paint: Golden Glaze
  • Acrylic Soft Gel Medium
  • Primed Chipboard Picket Fence
  • Primed Chipboard: Forest Wreath
  • Little Birdie Flowers: Rosalind Moon Light
  • Little Birdie Foliage: Feather Grass Brown
  • And a wooden mantle clock and clock mechanism, and a wooden number “12”. (and AA battery of course)

Step 1
Paint the mantle clock with the chalk paint. I painted two layers to ensure that the clock was covered well. I also painted the chipboard fence and wreath with the tinted metallic paint. I found the paint to dry quite fast, this is a great plus when you want to continue with the next step.

Step 2
I also painted the number "12"  with the Tinted Metallic Paint.

Step 3
With the Soft Gel Medium, I adhered the painted fence to the front and sides of the clock. I screwed the clock mechanism in place from the back and put a battery into the mechanism.

Step 4
After the number “12” was glued into place, I gently inserted the arms of the clock. Then I arranged the roses and foliage to form flower clusters on opposite corners of the face of the clock. I also adhered the chipboard wreath around the center of the clock .

Step 5
Finally I dry brushed (with my finger) with the gold paint to add interest and depth on the clock and the flowers.

And that's it!
Easy and quick to make!

Thank you for stopping by, until next time!
