Memory Box

Hello, Creatives!

Memory boxes are such fun! My fingers were itching to play with the Black Current Color splash and Drift Wood Chalk paint.  And this is what I came up with. I just loved working with Tinted Metallic Paints too! I think they are my new favorite medium!

Step 1
To prepare the Book Box, I unscrewed the hinges and set them aside. To create texture I randomly stenciled with the mosaic stencil and "Grainy Texture Paste" on the cover of the Book Box and then dried with the craft heat tool.

Step 2
I painted the Book Box with the "Drift wood" acrylic Chalk paint. The Chalk paint dry quite fast, I had no need to use the heat tool. To add depth I sprayed with "Gathered Twigs" Distress Stain and to add color, I sprayed with the glorious"Black Current" color splash. I used the "Golden Plum" and "Glazed Berries" Tinted Metallic paint , thinned down with water and a flared paint brush to splatter across the book cover. I used the craft heat tool again to dry the paint and ink splatters.

Step 3
As focus point I used the Primed chipboard - Heart Vine Square frame and painted it with the "Golden Plum" Tinted Metallic paint. I raised the the frame and photo with cardboard and  layered a small piece of Cheesecloth  more or less in the centre of the Book Cover.

Step 4
I arranged the flowers, "Natalie Butter Milk" and "Embossed Daisies- Bisque" around the frame and finished off with rhinestones, crystal domes and  brass ringes. To adhere the flowers and frame, I used the "Heavy Gel Medium)

Step 5
To finish the project off,  I replace the hinges with vintage brass hinges.

"You are one in a Melon!"

Hi there, Creatives!

I just love this photograph of my niece. For my Little Birdie Design Team project  I decided to go with clean lines to capture her innocence and very little mixed media elements except some gold paint splatters with Little Birdie's Tinted Metallic Paint. The pink Little Birdie Flowers and chipboard were the perfect choice to use with the fun Lady Pattern Paper's "Good Times and Tan Lines" collection.

“You are one in a Melon”

Let’s start:

Step 1
For the background I use a pink patterned paper and white cardstock. I trimmed the card-stock to 11” x 11” and punched a decorative border on the bottom side. Then I used a black thin liner to draw in some faux stitches. To create layers behind the photo I adhered 2 complimenting pieces of patterned paper measuring 6” x 7,5” and 4,5” x 6”. I then splattered with the Tinted Metallic Paint, Golden Glaze.

Tip:
Remember to wash your paintbrush immediately.

Step 1

Step 2
The next layer is formed with the Little Birdie Chipboard Brick Wall and flowers.

Step 2
Step 3
The photograph and sentiment card is adhered on top of the flowers and chipboard elements. The melon is line with some Glossy Accents to create some interest.

Step 3
Step 4
I embellished with small Beaded Micro Florettes- Cerise Pink, enameled brads, paperclips with bakers twine and Florettes and coordinating ribbon.

Step 4

Step 5
To finish the layout off, I did a few cross-stitches with golden embroidery floss and some sticker words.

Step 5
Here is some more details close up:

I hope this leaves you inspired to create.

I used the following Little Birdie supplies for this single page layout:
·              Symphony Flowers, Candy Mix
·              Beaded Micro Florettes: Cerise Pink
·              Primed Chipboard – Brick wall
·              Tinted Metallic Paint – Golden Glaze

and also papers from Lady Pattern paper: "Good Times and Tan Lines" paper collection, brads and ribbon from my stash, as well as ordinary paper clips.

"Celebtrate"

Hi there!

I’m so excited to share my first Little Birdie Design Team Project with you!
I designed a single scrapbook layout for my first project. A dear friend of mine recently had a birthday and this photo of her and her daughter was just perfect for it.

“Celebrate”

Let’s start!

Step 1

I chose paper from the Cottage Lace Collection to layer on white card-stock. I used the Lace paper as background and trimmed it 0,5” smaller. I fussy-cut the flowers from Wood-Plank paper and trimmed a piece of the wood paper to 4,5” x 6,5” . I tore along the right vertical side for interest.

Step 2

Then I distressed all the edges and made two small tears in the top right-hand corner of the Lace paper.  I placed the paper pieces and cotton lace as in the picture above and adhered with the Little Birdie Acrylic Soft Gel Medium to the background.

Tip: If you do not have a distress tool, you can also use a small pair of sharp scissors.

Step 3

The background was the first splattered with the Golden Glaze, thinned with water and a flair paint-brush, and then Mixed Media Paste was randomly stenciled on the background with the "Spotty" stencil.

Tip: Remember to wash your stencils immediately to get rid of the left over paste.

Step 4

I decided to paint the chipboard frame and word with the “Golden Glaze” Tinted Metallic Paint. Although Little Birdie Chipboard is primed already, I wanted to make sure the Golden Glaze stand out, so I painted the chipboard with a thin layer Mixed Media Paste. It is a Gesso and modeling paste all in one.

Tip: Thin the Mixed Media Paste with a little water to apply easier.

Step 5

To create additional dimension and interest, I used Little Birdie Sisal Fiber and adhered it to the area where the photograph will be placed. Again I used Little Birdie Acrylic Soft Gel Medium.

Step 6

I layered the photograph with the gold painted frame on the front and a piece of Little Birdie Cheese Cloth at the back. Then I created clusters of flowers with the Little Birdie Boutique Elements, the roses, small flowers and leaves.

Tip: To get more depth, I raised the photograph with thin cardboard.

Step 7

The Little Birdie Crystal Drops are perfect to accentuate and add interest. I used the Little Birdie Gel Medium to adhere them.  The Gel Medium dries clear and matt.

Step 8

The small painted chipboard word was adhered with Gel Medium in the right-hand corner, across the lace trim.

Step 9

The layout was finish the layout off with a small bow I made from Sisal Fiber and adhered it to the main flower cluster.

Here is some more close up photographs of the out:

For this project I used the following Little Birdie supplies, including two 6"x6" Burlap Art Boards:

·              Vintaj Micro Jeweled Florettes – Rustic Teal
·              “Script” Stencil

·              Cheese cloth
·              Sisal Fibers
·              Primed Chipboard – Loads of Love
·              Primed Chipboard – Frame
·              Crystal
·              Acrylic Soft Gel
·              Tinted Metallic Paint – Golden Glaze

Wonderful Little Birdie supplies!

Step 1
I colored the white mixed media paste with Olive Green ink and stencil through the “Script” stencil.

Tip:
Remember to wash your stencils immediately to get rid of the left over paste.

Step 1

Step 2
I painted the primed chipboard words and frame with the Tinted Metallic Paint and left it to dry.
Step 2
Step 3
I added a few glass beads to  crystal pins and glued it together with clear 3D gloss.

Step 3

Step 4
A wide organza ribbon was tied around the one Burlap Art Board and secured with double sided tape on the back. Before I tied a bow on the front, I layered a piece of cheesecloth and sisal fibers to create more interest. I used Little Birdie’s Soft Acrylic Gel to adhere it to the burlap background.
Step 4

Step 5
The flowers were placed around the frame and words and extra rhinestones and Crystal Drops were added. Again I used the Acrylic Soft Gel as adhesive. I also found some Gueney fowl feathers that made their way onto the cover.

Step 5
Step 6
To finish off the project, I added a metal key and hearts, as well as some tassels I made with tassel clamps and embroidery floss.

Step 6
