"Birthday Bash"

Hi there creatives!

I’m back again with a single page layout. I used a little texture paste on this one, but a lot of beautiful Little Birdie flowers. Also LB Burlap ribbon, the LB “Spotty” stencil, LB Gesso, LB Cheesecloth, LB chipboard words and feathers, and the glorious LB Tinted Metallic Paint- Golden Glaze, my new favorite!

“Birthday Bash”

Birthday Bash!
Let’s start!

Step 1
For the background I choose a wood grain print paper layered on dark brown card-stock. I trimmed the wood grain paper to 11.5” so the brown card-stock forms a frame. Then I distressed the edges to give the page some dimension.

Tip:
If you do not have a distress tool, you can also use a small pair of sharp scissors.

Step 1
 Step 2
I tore some red patterned paper measuring 5” x 5,5”.

Tip: if you want the white of the paper to show, tear the paper towards yourself.

Step 2
 Step 3
To create a layered effect I used an old book page cut in two (vertically) and adhered to the sides of the background. Then I adhered the patterned paper.

Step 3
Step 4
I added a piece of hessian Ribbon to make the layer part more interesting. Then Mixed Media Paste was applied randomly through the “Spotty” stencil.

Tip:
Remember to wash your stencils immediately to get rid of the left over paste.

Step 4
Step 5
I also used a small piece of Cheesecloth as an additional layer behind the photograph.

Step 5

Step 6
A 3”x4” photo printed with a white frame was mounted on mustard card-stock and raised with a small piece of cardboard to achieve more depth.

Step 6

Step 7
I painted the primed chipboard words and feathers with the Tinted Metallic Paint and left it to dry.

Step 7
Step 8
Once the chipboard was dry, I started building my embellishment clusters. I used the feathers on both sides of the page to repeat the idea of foliage.

Step 8
Step 9
The title was glued on top of a small piece of cheesecloth.

Step 9

Step 10
I added little details like an interesting button, word stickers, a red photo turn metal ring and crystal domes. Finally I splattered more Golden Glaze and added small red rhinestones.

Tip:
The crystal dome was adhered with “Glossy Accents”.
