In short:
I applied clear gesso to trimmed background paper and then painted randomly with watered down Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks. Texture was applied through the Hex Floral stencil and stamped with the Hexagon Collage stamp with Watering Can Archival Ink. Chipped Sapphire ink splatters were finally added to create the mixed media background. Fussy cut flowers, hexagon board pieces (painted with white gesso) and gauze created the layered “photo-mat” behind the two photos of her son and his girlfriend. To finish, I embellished with flowers, coloured art stones and mica flakes adhered with matt gel medium.
